Top Canadian mining investor Eric Sprott picked up 31,924,944 shares of Discovery Silver (TSX:DSV) following the automatic conversion of an equal number of subscription receipts acquired on February 3, 2025, for C$0.90 each.
The shares, acquired through 2176423 Ontario Ltd., a corporation Sprott beneficially owns, represent total consideration of C$28,731,999.60.
Prior to the conversion, Sprott owned 89,919,554 shares or 22.3 per cent of the company. Following the transaction, he now owns 121,843,998 shares or 15.3 per cent of the company because of prior treasury issuances.
The news follows Discovery’s expansion into gold with the acquisition of the Porcupine complex in Ontario, which has produced over 70 million ounces since 1910 and offers significant upside across four mines.
The company’s flagship Cordero project in Mexico houses the world’s largest undeveloped silver reserve at 302 million ounces (Moz), in addition to 1,202 Moz silver equivalent (AgEq) measured and indicated and 155 Moz AgEq inferred.
