NEREA is the company’s propriety on-demand grow system designed for nurseries, greenhouses, horticultural growers, and outdoor growers. It is a system that allows plants to receive nutrients based on the required need at the time and reduces the use of fertilizer by 80 per cent.

Dr. Gerardo Rodríguez-Fuentes, CSO of International Zeolite, added,

“The new [International Zeolite]-NEREA Team will have several subjects to research, develop and innovate to demonstrate and support the benefits of the NEREA technology and products, a new paradigm for world agriculture.”

Niagara College will provide support for research projects related to NEREA, which will be carried out by HESIC.

Mark Pearlman, President and COO of International Zeolite, commented,

“Niagara College is recognized as one of Canada’s top research academic institutions, and they have evaluated our NEREA grow system as well as provided us with recommended solutions supporting rapid adoption of our products and solutions by growers in the agricultural segment.”

Niagara College will also offer ongoing access to resources, staff, and space to support these research projects. The college and the company will examine prospective advanced manufacturing, business and commercialization projects and establish International Zeolite’s new production facility in the Niagara region.
