CanAlaska Uranium (CVV) has begun new survey work and announced recent prospecting results on its majority-owned Geikie Project in Saskatchewan.

The company stated the purpose of the versatile time-domain electromagnetic plus survey is to identify basement conductors, characterize lithological and alteration variations, and refine the structural setting of the project to define drill targets.

The survey will consist of 1,399 line kilometres of helicopter-borne surveying at a 200- to 400-metre line across the Geikie project. The survey is estimated to be done in two weeks, with final survey results by early 2023.

Additionally, the results of a geological prospecting program on the project identified rocks for basement-hosted uranium mineralization that contain elevated pathfinder elements and uranium anomalism in the GK1 and GK2 target areas.

CanAlaska CEO, Cory Belyk, commented,

“Results from the prospecting program highlight the potential of the Geikie project to host uranium mineralization… Moving this project forward in a controlled step-by-step manner will provide very good and prioritized drill targets for the first drilling programs planned for 2023.”

For its next steps, CanAlaska will develop a systematic exploration strategy for the Geikie Project.

CanAlaska Uranium Ltd. (CVV) is up 1.30 per cent and is trading at $0.39 per share as of 2:22 p.m. EST.
