Wondering what summer trends and stocks to look out for during the “school’s out” season? Allan Small, senior investment advisor of the Allan Small Investment Group with iA Private Wealth, joins Coreena Robertson in the above video to discuss trends in stocks and market action during the summer.

Small looks at the technology trends and artificial intelligence as well as the influence of summer vacation on investors.

On the technology side, Small discusses the Magnificent Seven, doing a “mini-dive” into Apple, Tesla, Google and Meta. He also makes the point of focusing on chip makers, such as Nvidia and AMD while also considering the “hyperscalers” – companies such as Google and Amazon.

In addition, Small shares his thoughts on companies in the cybersecurity space.

You can also check out Small’s interview before the Bank of Canada’s latest rate reduction July 24. He discusses the impact of the inflation rate, and the likelihood of continued cuts as the central bank targets a 2 per cent inflation rate.
