Consumer advocacy law firm Levi & Korsinsky is investigating claims against Microsoft (NDAQ:MSFT) around data concerns on game downloads.

The firm is reaching out to anyone who purchased video games through the Microsoft / X-Box website. Reports suggest that legally protected data may have been intercepted during transactions, particularly for customers who purchased video games featuring cut scenes or cinematics.

“This issue is of particular concern for those who purchased games containing cut scenes or cinematics-pre-rendered or pre-scripted animations or vignettes that advance the narrative of the video game’s story,” the team said in a news release. “Unauthorized interception of data is a serious issue that could lead to privacy violations. The company responsible for safeguarding your data during transactions may be liable if your information was compromised, potentially exposing you to risks such as unauthorized use of your data.”

The attorneys at Levi & Korsinsky is asking anyone who purchased a video game that features cut scenes or cinematics from the Microsoft / X-Box website to contact them.
