MiniLuxe (TSXV:MNLX) signed WNBA player Kiki Rice, the newly minted Toronto Tempo’s inaugural draft pick, as its first brand ambassador.
Rice, a first-round sixth overall pick, will invest in the company and vie to deepen its appeal in the Canadian market through what Friday’s news release refers to as “purpose-driven initiatives that invest in the long-term growth of women and their impact beyond the court.”
From a planning perspective, Rice will be tasked with enhancing storytelling, campaigns and collaborations – including nail art collections and nail and hand treatments – as well as broader community investment initiatives. The company released record financial results for Q2 2025, including a substantial year-over-year increase in adjusted EBITDA.
“I’m always looking for ways to personalize my everyday as well as gameday looks. I have gone to MiniLuxe for their custom press-ons and elevated nail designs throughout my college career, and I love the unique personal spin they give to my outfits and the team uniform,” Rice said in a statement. “I’ve been intentional to choose partnerships with brands that genuinely reflect who I am, my values and what I use in my everyday life, so I was naturally drawn to MiniLuxe and am honored to now partner with them.”
MiniLuxe and Rice’s relationship began during March Madness, when the former UCLA Bruin sported two custom MiniLuxe press-on nail sets inspired by Bruin iconography, as well as her personal style, on her way to winning the 2026 NCAA champion.
She followed up this collaboration with a MiniLuxe nail art manicure at the 2026 WNBA Draft in April, which she wore on the Orange Carpet, showcasing the brand on a nationwide stage.
Tony Tjan, co-founder and chief executive officer of MiniLuxe, summed up the signing, noting that, “As a Canadian-listed company, and with Kiki as one of our equity participants, it further reinforces our shared values – the partnership seems to be written in the stars.”
