AgraFlora Organics (AGRA) has provided a progress report on its cannabis cultivation asset in British Columbia, Propagation Services Canada.

PSC, also known as the Delta facility, is a joint venture between AgraFlora and the Houwelings Group. The site in Delta, British Columbia hosts an automated greenhouse facility, with enough room for up to 2.2 million square feet of cannabis cultivation.

The company received a Standard Cultivation License for the facility from Health Canada in the middle of May, 2020. The Delta facility then commenced cultivation in June 2020, using a curated portfolio of live-plant genetics.

AgraFlora expects to move to first harvest sometime early in 2020’s fourth quarter. As such, the company hopes to make low-cost, high-potency cannabis strains from the facility available for wholesale in 2021’s first quarter.

The Delta facility’s elite genetics have been tailored to work in tandem with PSC’s infrastructure and cultivation program. AgraFlora expects the genetics to yield up to 44 varieties of cannabis strains, with strong cannabinoid and terpene content.

This will create a robust product offering for the company’s wholesale clients.

The General Manager of Houweling Nurseries, Ruben Houweling, commented on the progress being made at the Delta facility.

“The team has been doing a great transition from tomato cultivation to cannabis. Our preparation has paid off, and we have had great results this summer in plant health and scale up.

“We are getting ready to start our first flowering cycles this fall,” he said.

AgraFlora Organics (AGRA) is down 5.00 per cent, and trading for 4.8 cents per share, as of 1:25pm EDT.
