American Atomics: The Nuclear Revival in North America’s Traditional Stronghold
The world needs more electricity! The drastic crude oil price shock in the spring of 2026, resulting from geopolitical escalation in the Middle East, is massively driving the global renaissance of nuclear energy. In light of ongoing disruptions in the fossil fuel sector, the nuclear industry is warning of a serious supply shortfall, as long-term supply contracts fall far short of covering the actual annual demand for nuclear fuel. This is bringing governments into the picture, led by the Trump administration, which now aims to expedite the approval process.
In this crisis-resistant market environment, the Canadian company American Atomics is establishing itself with an ambitious “from rock to reactor” strategy aimed at ensuring North America’s energy self-sufficiency. The new geological report confirms a fundamental breakthrough in the US state of Colorado for the Blue Streak property, which encompasses nearly 200 claims in the heart of a region with a long history of mining. The resource model for the area already estimates the high-grade triuranoctoxide deposit at just under 125,000 pounds, with hundreds of historic drill holes and significant vanadium deposits revealing enormous potential for expansion.

Furthermore, the company is expanding into neighbouring Utah and has secured a contractual majority interest in the deep Lisbon Valley East property in San Juan County. The recently filed NI 43-101 report confirms that the anticipated uranium zone is estimated to run at a depth of 750 to 850 m below surface. Historical data and geological shifts indicate that the once-million-ounce uranium vein of the famous North Alice Mine continues beyond a local fault line. Previous test drilling by exploration companies and significant gamma-ray anomalies from oil wells support this geological hypothesis over a length of 20 km.
With fresh capital reserves from a recent financing round at a fixed price of CAD 0.25 per share, the company’s operations are solidly funded for the coming months. Given this dual project pipeline in politically stable regions, the current market valuation of approximately CAD 10 million appears to be a bargain.
In an interview with IIF host Lyndsay Malchuk, co-founder Conor Lynch discusses American Atomics’ strategic direction.
Micron Technology and AMD: Earnings Season Brings Profits
From power generation to efficient data processing. Hardly any earnings quarter has been as exciting as the last, with significant profit increases pouring in. As a leading memory chip manufacturer, Micron Technology is reinforcing the semiconductor supercycle with record-breaking quarterly revenue of USD 41.4 billion. Driven by enormous demand for high-bandwidth memory for AI data centers, earnings per share rose to USD 24.67. Operating profitability has thus increased fifteenfold year-over-year, reflecting unprecedented pricing power in the sector. And the rally is expected to continue. For the coming quarter, management forecasts a further increase in revenue to around USD 50 billion. Despite the strong boom, the stock still appears attractively valued with an estimated 2027 P/E ratio of 12 and analyst price targets on the LSEG platform of up to USD 1,472.
Industry rival Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is underscoring its successful push into the AI chip market with new quarterly records. The data center segment, in particular, is driving growth due to high demand for MI300 and MI350 accelerators. AMD is giving Nvidia a run for its money in its traditional core areas. Despite weaknesses in the gaming market, the gross margin increased significantly thanks to the focus on AI. AMD used the last six months to make extensive capacity adjustments. The optimized production structures consequently led to a jump in profits that far exceeded analyst expectations. CEO Lisa Su is extremely optimistic about the future and highlighted a well-stocked order pipeline that extends well into the coming year. Not unexpectedly, management has once again raised its revenue forecasts for the AI business due to the strong momentum. Experts project revenue of approximately USD 50 billion in 2026, followed by further revenue growth for 2027 and 2028 of USD 82.9 billion and USD 111.8 billion, respectively. What a dream scenario for the chip manufacturer that nearly slipped into bankruptcy in 2014.
Palantir Technologies: A Textbook Breakout
For some players, the euphoria seems to know no bounds. Currently, artificial intelligence appears to be increasingly moving beyond the phase of grand promises and is having an ever-more-pronounced impact on companies’ financial results. And this is where Palantir Technologies is currently making a striking statement. The specialist in data analysis and AI platforms surprised even optimistic market observers with an exceptionally strong second quarter. The US commercial segment, in particular, emerged as a growth engine, posting an impressive 149% year-over-year increase. This signals that companies are now broadly integrating their AI strategies into their day-to-day operations. Against this backdrop, management, led by CEO Alexander Karp, raised its full-year revenue forecast to as much as USD 8.16 billion. The founder appears to have great confidence in the sector’s boundless momentum. The stock market reacted enthusiastically to these stellar figures; at one point midweek, Palantir’s stock surged by over 30%. What is remarkable is the preceding trend. Within four months, the stock had plummeted by exactly 50% from its all-time high of around USD 207. Now, it has staged an impressive turnaround, climbing back to USD 162. Palantir thus impressively demonstrates that the biggest winners of the AI era are not found solely among the developers of powerful models, but above all among those platform providers that securely organize and link vast amounts of data and make it economically usable for companies. Many analysts remain correspondingly optimistic. On the LSEG platform, the average 12-month price target currently stands at USD 192.70. The final chapter in the Palantir story is thus likely far from over.
Stock markets tend to swing to extremes in all directions. While the chip sector experienced a dramatic upswing through June, some major players like SK Hynix and SanDisk have since given back a whopping 50% from their all-time highs. Following stellar quarterly reports, the tide is turning again, and the previous highs are once more within reach. Investors focused on AI infrastructure should also keep a close eye on the nuclear energy sector. American Atomics is positioning itself to become an integral part of North America’s critical minerals and nuclear fuel supply chain, laying the groundwork for long-term participation in this strategically important market.
