Alpha Exploration (ALEX) has released results from the maiden drill program at its Tolegimja Copper-Zinc-Gold VMS Discovery.

The discovery is part of the company’s 100-percent owned Kerkasha Project in Eritrea.

The drill program included nine reverse-circulation drill holes for a total of 1,862 metres and was completed in February.

All assay results have now been received.

One hole intersected 26 metres of massive and semi massive sulphide mineralization averaging 0.11 grams per tonne of gold, 0.38 percent copper and 1.67 percent zinc.

“To intersect massive-and semi-massive sulphide mineralization up to 26 metres wide in two separate drill holes in the first nine drill holes at the Tolegimja Prospect is very encouraging. Now that we have confirmed the presence of VMS-style mineralization obviously, more drilling is warranted over this 2.7 km long prospect in the near future,” said Alpha President and CEO Michael Hopley.

The Tolegimja prospect is a virgin discovery in the northeast of the Kerkasha Project approximately 50 kilometres from the Bisha VMS copper-zinc-gold mine and was made during an initial property-wide soil geochemical survey.

Alpha Exploration is unchanged, trading a at $0.72 at 11:57 am ET.
