Barksdale Resources (BRO) has released assay results for another eight drill holes in its 5,000-metre Phase I program.

The program was conducted at the Cerro Verde zone of the San Javier project in Sonora, Mexico.

These latest results continue to confirm continuity of drilled mineralization, as well as expansion of the mineralization footprint, including both oxide and sulphide copper.

Drilling was completed using a diamond drill core and cores were logged and marked for sampling before being sent to an accredited laboratory.

Core samples were analyzed for total copper, acid-soluble copper, cyanide soluble copper, as well as a multi-element ICP Analysis.

Highlights from the latest assay results include 0.75 per cent copper over 47 metres, 39 metres containing 0.61 per cent copper, and 6 metres containing 0.90 per cent copper.

Drilling also intersected oxide gold intercepts in hole SJ21-29, grading 0.73 g/t gold over 15 metres.

Rick Trotman, president and CEO of Barksdale Resources, commented on the results.

“The drill results continue to demonstrate that the Cerro Verde zone has significant shallow copper mineralization,” he said. “The final results from the drilling program, which are primarily step-out holes to the west and south, are expected to be released within the next few weeks, at which point we can complete our resource estimation for Cerro Verde.”

Barksdale Resources is a base metal exploration company headquartered in Vancouver. Its projects include Sunnyside, San Antonio, and Four Metals.

Shares in Barksdale Resources Corp. (BRO) are steady, trading at $0.32 per share as of 3:19 pm EST.
