Baylin Technologies (TSX:BYL), a top provider of antenna and radio frequency solutions, secured C$2.5 million in orders from a major customer for its custom embedded antennas, which will be integrated into the client’s advanced body armour camera systems.

The antennas, requiring only a compact camera housing, are designed for reliability in mission-critical environments under law enforcement, security agencies and other first responders, providing the high-bandwidth required for situational awareness tools including live video streaming.

The deal follows a C$1.5 million award from a major South Asian broadcaster and a value-accretive Q3, which saw the company post its seventh consecutive quarter of positive adjusted EBITDA while meaningfully decreasing its debt load.

Baylin has cut net losses every year since 2021, earning C$1 million in net income in Q2 2025, offering potential investors clear-cut, long-term evidence of increasingly efficient capital allocation.

While the company expects a subdued Q4 because of tariff-related uncertainty, leadership expects operational improvements to ramp up in Q1 2026 driven by higher sales volume from new and existing embedded antenna customers, strength in sales and gross margin from wireless infrastructure, as well as leaner operations and improved cost-effectiveness in the satcom business line, suggesting that Baylin is on track for further momentum on its path to profitability.

This rosy outlook stands in contrast to Baylin stock (TSX:BYL), which has given back 26.83 per cent year-over-year and 64.29 per cent since 2020, creating a robust margin of safety for a potential contrarian play.

Management commentary

“Body-worn technologies are evolving rapidly and connectivity is at the centre of the evolution,” Leighton Carroll, chief executive officer of Baylin Technologies, said in a statement. “Our custom embedded antennas are purpose-built to meet the stringent performance and size requirements demanded by frontline personnel. We are proud to support our customer as they advance the future of public safety and security. This win reinforces the company’s growing presence in the public safety, defense and professional wearable device sectors, where reliable wireless performance is essential for field operations.”
