Blackrock (BRC) has yielded 52.6 g/t gold and 606 g/t silver over 1.5 m from its Silver Cloud Project.
The result stems from the recently completed three-hole, 1,447 m diamond exploration drill program on the Nevada-based property.
The company encountered bonanza grades in SBC22-020, in the Northwest Canyon area, representing a new high-grade vein discovery known as Zeus.
The bonanza grades are associated with a banded quartz vein with black sulphides, with 606 g/t silver marking the highest-grade silver intercept on the Silver Cloud property to date.
All significant gold intervals will be re-submitted to the assay laboratory for metallic-screen analysis.
Blackrock is planning additional work to follow up on the Northwest Canyon discovery. The area shows the potential for a large vein-hosted deposit.
“Our understanding of the rich ore deposits along the Northern Nevada Rift was key to making the Zeus discovery. The Midas Mine, located 20 km to the north, which started with a similar intercept, ultimately lead to the discovery of the Colorado Grande and Gold Crown veins, which were 0.3 to 6 m wide, yet managed to form the basis for one of Nevada’s most iconic historic gold mines,” stated Andrew Pollard, Blackrock Silver’s President and CEO.
“Making a blind discovery of this magnitude on such a limited round of drilling is a testament to the calibre of our geologic team. The discovery of Zeus may have just parted the Silver Clouds once and for all, with indications that the system has plenty of room to grow from here,” he concluded.
