- Bombardier (TSX:BBD.A) reveals that Unifor’s Locals 112 and 673 members at the company’s Aircraft Assembly Centre in Ontario have renewed a three-year agreement
- This officially ends an 18-day strike at manufacturing facilities in Mississauga and Waterloo, Ontario
- The agreement includes a wage increase of 12.5 percent over the life of the agreement
- Shares of Bombardier are up 4.99 per cent to C$90.61 as of 12:53 pm ET
Bombardier (TSX:BBD.A) reveals that Unifor’s Locals 112 and 673 members at the company’s Aircraft Assembly Centre in Ontario have renewed a three-year agreement.
According to a release from Unifor, the agreement officially puts an end to end to an 18-day strike at the company’s aircraft manufacturing facilities in Mississauga and Waterloo.
“Our union’s top priority in these negotiations was to secure an agreement that reflects our members’ skills, hard work and dedication which have made Bombardier’s global jet program so successful,” Lana Payne, national president at Unifor, said in a statement. “After a highly effective strike, I am proud to say that our members ratified a landmark agreement that delivers a substantial economic package at a time when aerospace workers need it most.”
Under the terms of the new agreement, Unifor Local 112 and 673 members will receive general wage increases of 12.5 per cent over the life of the agreement. The agreement also includes work commitments and job ownership for union members over the entire global fleet.
Unifor Local 112 represents about 1,200 production and Skilled Trades members at Bombardier while Local 673 represents 250 office, professional and technical workers.
Bombardier builds business aircrafts and is focused on designing, manufacturing and servicing business jets.
Shares of Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.A) are up 4.99 per cent to C$90.61 as of 12:53 pm ET.
