Canopy Growth (TSX:WEED) has expanded its globally recognized Tweed brand in the German medical cannabis market.

The new launch includes four strains grown in the European Union in partnership with Gro-Vida, a Portuguese medical cannabis cultivator. Here’s a breakdown:

  • Jack Herer, a new sativa-dominant strain.
  • Balanced Caramel and Wappa, two indica-prominent strains.
  • Gelato 33, a balanced hybrid strain to meet growing demand for higher-THC genetics, according to Thursday’s news release.

Canopy Growth introduced Tweed’s high-THC, indica-dominant Glitter Bomb strain to the German medical market in December 2024 in partnership with Cansativa, a German vertically integrated cannabis cultivator and distributor.

Canopy posted an adjusted EBITDA loss of C$3 million in Q3 fiscal 2025 – representing a 61 per cent improvement year-over-year – thanks to ongoing restructuring and cost-saving measures in response to margin compression in the Canadian cannabis market.

Leadership insights

“As a leader in medical cannabis, Canopy Growth is expanding its German product lineup with the launch of the Tweed brand as well as new genetics to meet the growing needs of patients and healthcare practitioners,” Luc Mongeau, Canopy Growth’s chief executive officer, said in a statement. “Through strategic agreements with E.U.-based cultivators and continued supply from our E.U.-GMP facility in Canada, Canopy Growth is focused on delivering a consistent, reliable flower supply enabling healthcare practitioners to confidently prescribe Tweed for patients across Germany.”
