Canterra Minerals (CTM) has staked the Carter Lake Property in central Newfoundland.

The 28 kmproperty includes 112 claims and increases the company’s land holdings along the Valentine Lake Shear Zone to 1,088 claims over 285 km2.

The property features historic grab samples from float ranging from 5 ppb to 963 ppb gold, as well as a historic 500 m gold-in-soil anomaly along its southern margin.

It also includes mineral rights adjacent to the company’s Wilding Gold Project and Noel-Paul Projects.

Carter Lake is underlain by the same geological units as the Wilding Project. This geology includes the Silurian Rogerson Lake Conglomerate, which is known to host gold mineralization at Wilding and at the Marathon Gold Valentine Lake Deposit.

Canterra will complete initial reconnaissance work in conjunction with the 2021 field season to identify, delineate and potentially drill test targets on the property.

Chris Pennimpede, the CEO and President of Canterra commented,

“We are pleased to be announcing our staking of the Carter Lake claims which significantly expands Canterra’s presence in one of the most prospective gold exploration regions in Newfoundland, adding more than 15 km of strike length with evidence of gold mineralization.”

Canterra Minerals is engaged in the acquisition, exploration and evaluation of mineral properties in Newfoundland.

Canterra Minerals (CTM) is up by 1.85 per cent and is currently trading at $0.275 per share as of 9:30 am ET.
