Celestica (TSX: CLS; NYSE:CLS) launched its latest innovation designed to meet the high-bandwidth demands of AI/ML data centre networking.

The Toronto-based tech company unveiled the DS4100, its new 1U 800G per port top-of-rack, leaf/spine switch targeting enterprise, service provider and cloud provider domains.

The DS4100 is the newest addition to Celestica’s portfolio of storage, compute and networking hardware platform solutions. It is built with the Broadcom TH4-12.8T switch chipset and features 16x 800G OSFP ports, delivering 12.8Tbps non-blocking switching capacity in a compact 1U form factor. The switch is equipped with field-replaceable fans and redundant hot-swappable power supplies, helping to ensure reliability and ease of maintenance. Its flexible I/O configurations support 112G SerDes-based NICs with port speed options ranging from 100GbE to 400GbE.

The DS4100 is powered by an x86-based CPU, providing high performance for a variety of critical data centre applications.

The DS4100 is optimized for several key use cases, including:

In line with Celestica’s commitment to open networking, the DS4100 supports software for open networking in the cloud as a production-hardened network operating system. As a longtime member of the OCP Community, Celestica has incorporated the open network install environment installer into the DS4100 to support additional open and third-party network operating systems.

This new switch could play a crucial role in enabling high-bandwidth, low-latency connectivity for many of the world’s most innovative companies.

“With AI/ML fuelling demand for high-performance data centre switches, Celestica has developed a suite of powerful 800G switches that deliver high bandwidth and port density,” Celestica’s head of portfolio solutions and CTO, connectivity and cloud solutions, Gavin Cato said in a news release. “The DS4100 delivers the performance required for demanding applications like AI/ML with the redundancy and flexibility required of modern data centres.”
