Clear Sky Lithium Corp. (POWR) has tapped Kemetco Research to provide metallurgical test work services, helping advance its claystone process technology for lithium.

It has been a challenge to process claystone-based lithium. According to the S&P database, more than half of the undeveloped U.S. lithium projects with established resources are clay associated, but none of them have reached commercial production.

Clear Sky’s CEO, Patrick Morris, called unlocking claystone lithium processing the key to a domestic electrification pathway.

“A domestic supply of lithium should reduce America’s dependence on foreign suppliers and strengthen the local supply chain.”

This initial test work will include analysis and verification of results from field-acquired surface grab samples from the property. Clear Sky is working to identify processing solutions to advance its property towards the development and, ultimately, the commercial stage.

Richmond, B.C.-based Kemetco Research is a private sector integrated science, technology, and innovation firm. It provides laboratory analysis and testing, field work, bench scale studies, pilot plant investigations, consulting services, and applied research and development for industry and government.

Clear Sky Lithium Corp. (POWR) is a new mineral exploration, and development company focused on American lithium deposits to support domestic demand. It is primarily engaged in the business of mineral exploration and the development of the ELi Property.

Clear Sky Lithium (POWR) was up 1.16 per cent to $0.87 a share as of 12:30 pm ET.
