- The CloudMD platform was officially launched in February this year
- A large portion of these users came off the back of referrals from the company’s network of doctors
- Combined registrations on both platforms has increased 133 per cent over the last week
- CloudMD Software and Services (DOC) is currently up 4.65 per cent to C$0.45 per share, with a market cap of $36.34 million
CloudMD Software and Services (CSE:DOC) has reached more than 100,000 users on its CloudMD and MyHealthAccess platforms.
The company is focused in the digitisation of healthcare delivery by providing patients with access to medical appointments via their phone, tablet or computer. The service is built on a combined network of 315 clinics and more than 3,000 licensed medical practitioners.
CloudMD was officially launched on February 5 this year. The initial roll-out catered to patients in British Columbia, where consultations are covered by the provincial Medical Services Plan. The service is available beyond regular clinic hours, including evenings and weekends.
Within the platform, an electronic chart is created for each patient. This enables doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals to quickly access and understand the patient’s past and current health status.
The CloudMD platform was originally designed to cater to patients in remote areas with limited access to medical services. However, with the outbreak of COVID-19 and the subsequent restrictions on travel and social interaction, the platform has exploded in popularity.
In the last two weeks alone, almost 1,000 virtual doctors appointments were booked through CloudMD, representing three times the growth seen in the preceding period.
Combined registrations from the CloudMD and MyHealthAccess platforms also increased by 133 per cent over the past week as more people remain in isolation.
