Contact Gold Corp (TSXV:C) has posted cyanide bottle roll tests from its Green Spring gold project in Nevada.
The bottle roll testing was conducted on the site’s Alpha, Bravo and Echo zones.
Contact Gold has just completed its first extensive drilling program on the site.
Bottle roll testings use cyanide to determine what prospective gold returns a company can expect during the leeching process.
The results include 6.02 grams of gold per tonne or 108 per cent of the original 5.75 grams of gold per tonne average grade from the Echo Zone.
Along with 1.04 grams of gold per tonne, or 99 per cent of the original 1.05 grams of gold per tonne average grade from Bravo Zone.
Finally, 0.78 grams of gold per tonne, or 49 per cent of the original 1.61 grams of gold per tonne from the Alpha Zone.
The company has stated the Alpha zone results are down to improper compositing. The lower 10 samples representing 15 metres returned in excess of 90 per cent cyanide solubility, but the upper 7 samples included in the composite returned less than 20 per cent cyanide solubility.
VP of exploration for Contact Gold Vance Spalding said the company would now move forward confidently with its 2020 drill program looking to expand the existing oxide gold zones.
“The excellent gold recoveries coupled with the strong exploration potential that drew us to Green springs reinforces the high-quality nature of Contact’s acquisition.
“The initial bottle roll tests from Green Springs are extremely encouraging and demonstrate the amenability of both the remaining Chairman Shale hosted mineralization, as well as the under explored Pilot Shale hosted mineralization to processing via heap leach methods,” he said.
