The company described Matthew as having more than 25 years of financial leadership experience, including serving as Chief Financial Officer of Asante Technologies, a Nasdaq-listed networking hardware company. Deep Sea Minerals said his work there included financial initiatives tied to operational restructuring, capital raising and strategic transactions across international operations.

Deep Sea Minerals also said Matthew currently serves as Audit Committee Chairman of Nasdaq-listed K2 Capital Acquisition Corp., where he provides oversight of financial reporting, internal controls and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission compliance. The company said his broader public-company experience includes serving as Finance Director at Seagate Technology and holding senior finance roles across the semiconductor, communications and technology sectors.
According to the release, Matthew has also held Chief Financial Officer roles at PrimeBlock, RiskSense, Narus and Vivato Networks, with responsibilities that included financing initiatives, acquisition and divestiture transactions, and preparations for potential public-company combinations.
In a separate update, the company said Steven Nguyen will transition from Chief Financial Officer to Vice President of Finance and will continue to serve as a director.
