According to Draganfly, the technology is designed for use across a range of unmanned platforms, including first-person-view (FPV) drones, interceptor systems, and fixed-wing aircraft. The company said the investment aligns with its strategy of adopting and integrating technologies that have demonstrated effectiveness in demanding operational environments.
As part of the transaction, Draganfly chief executive officer Cameron Chell will join DoD Solution’s board of directors. The companies said his involvement is expected to support the integration and distribution of DoD Solution’s technology across various commercial and defence applications.
“An advanced autonomy solution that can work across different unmanned systems and operational environments provides an inherent capability advantage,” DoD Solution’s chief executive, Roman Hapachylo, explained in a news statement. “AURA AI is designed to enable easy integration and scalability, serving as an expandable platform that supports increasingly demanding onboard applications. Draganfly is a strong partner in helping us ensure we can be testing, proving and deploying our innovations at the speed our users need.”
DoD Solution plans to use the financing to scale production of its next-generation AURA SBC hardware, further develop AURA OS and onboard artificial intelligence capabilities, expand integrations with unmanned platforms, and advance compliance with U.S. National Defense Authorization Act requirements.
Founded as an Estonian-Ukrainian defence technology company, DoD Solution focuses on developing onboard computing and autonomy systems that enable unmanned platforms to operate in contested and communications-denied environments. The company’s AURA AI platform combines onboard hardware and software to support autonomous capabilities in a variety of mission profiles.
