Drone technology specialist Draganfly (NASDAQ/CSE:DPRO) will receive US$10 million from a top US investment fund and Unusual Machines (NYSEAM:UMAC), a top US drone supplier on track to be cash-flow positive, to fuel the company amid a period of rising demand across the commercial and defense sectors.

According to Monday’s news release, each company will contribute US$5 million at US$5.35 per share, the closing price on September 25, 2026, for a total of 1,869,159 common Draganfly shares.

The investment will go towards advancing Draganfly’s growing presence in the US defense industry, as well as key international markets, as highlighted by a recent procurement milestone with the Canadian Armed Forces.

Jett Capital Advisors and Northland Capital Markets are acting as placement agents for the offering, which is expected to close by September 29, 2026.

The investment follows Draganfly’s encouraging Q2, including numerous new deals, a 26% increase in revenue year-over-year and $131.9 million in cash to steer the company on a path to profitability.

Leadership commentary

“We are seeing the convergence of customer adoption, government procurement, domestic manufacturing, defense autonomy and strategic industry participation,” Cameron Chell, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Draganfly, said in a statement. “This strategic investment from Unusual Machines and a leading US investment fund is about positioning, not size. It is about aligning capabilities that can best serve the industries’ requirements at scale domestically and abroad.”

“America and its allies are entering a period in which the ability to manufacture drones, components and autonomous systems at scale is becoming a strategic capability,” added Allan Evans, CEO of Unusual Machines. “This investment into Draganfly allows us to support their production growth and deepen our supplier relationships.”
