Daura Gold (TSXV:DGC) released new high-grade surface samples from its flagship 900-hectare Antonella project in Ancash, Peru.
The results, tied to vein extensions in the project’s northern zone, stem from 18 rock chip samples about 1 kilometre north of the Antonella main zone. Here are the highlights:
- 55.83 grams per ton (g/t) of gold and 220 g/t silver.
- 12.33 g/t gold and 99.1 g/t silver.
- 2.81 g/t gold and 17.5 g/t silver.
- 1.36 g/t gold and 8 g/t silver.
Mineralization north of Antonella is associated with vein-type structures ranging from 0.3 to 1 m wide, including the presence of lead, zinc and copper.
Antonella is proximal to Highlander Silver’s expanding high-grade Bonita system, both located in a mineral-rich metallogenic belt hosting the large-scale Antamina deposit and Barrick’s past-producing Pierina gold mine.
Next steps for Antonella include continued community engagement, geological mapping and sampling across the property’s concessions, to be followed by geophysical surveys to further define structures associated with known mineralization.
Management commentary
“These additional high-grade results from the northern vein extensions at Antonella build on our recent discoveries and underscore the expanding mineralization footprint of the Antonella project,” Mark Sumner, chief executive officer of Daura Gold, said in Tuesday’s news release. “The northern veins at Antonella clearly warrant more attention as we work towards tying these zones together and advance southeast towards Highlander’s Bonita project.”
