Fremont Gold (FRE) has provided updates on exploration work at the Cobb Creek project in Elko County, Nevada.

Cobb Creek is located at one of the most important gold belts in northern Nevada. It contains a non-N43-101 compliant, historical resource of 160,000 ounces of gold which is named the McCall deposit.

Recent structural and alteration mapping reveals widespread epithermal or high-level Carlin-style alteration, including zones of jasperoid-silica alteration and pervasive brecciation.

These zones are in the northeast and southeast area of the Cobb Creek property and now define new target areas.

Ground magnetic surveys show volcanic cover that masks the magnetic response of potential prospective host rocks. Results of an expanded geochemical soil sampling program are pending.

VP of exploration of Fremont Gold, Dr. Clay Newton commented,

“The epithermal corridor has been traced along a structural zone from the 1.4 million ounce gold Gravel Creek epithermal gold deposit, 12 km north, to the Cobb North area which was staked earlier this year.”

Fremont Gold is a gold mining company focusing on Nevada projects.

Fremont Gold (FRE) is down 20 per cent at C$0.02 per share at 3:05 PM EST.
