Avricore Health (AVCR) has expanded its patient testing with the HealthTab platform in select Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacies in BC.
HealthTab is a turnkey point-of-care testing solution that screens for chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease. With just a few drops of blood from a finger prick, the system generates lab-accurate results on the spot and data is reported in real-time.
This expansion marks HealthTab’s debut in Western Canada and builds off the company’s agreement with Shoppers Drug Mart signed in May of this year.
With the point-of-care testing market expected to reach US$50.6 billion by 2025, Avricore’s HealthTab provides services to an increasingly broad audience.
Hector Bremner, Avricore Health’s CEO, commented on the expansion.
“The launch in Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacies in Ontario has been very successful and we are very happy to see the program lay the groundwork for expansion,” he said. “Having a real-time patient observation program reporting seamlessly across 3,000 kilometres is very unique and we are very proud to deliver this innovation.”
The agreement with Shoppers Drug Mart brings patients access to point-of-care blood screening and health-data management for potential risks associated with diabetes and cardiovascular conditions.
“Patient feedback, along with that of our pharmacists, has been very positive in Ontario with respect to HealthTab and we are evaluating how more patients can benefit from this type of service,” said Frank Hack, Director of Complex Care at Shoppers Drug Mart.
