HydroGraph launches fractal graphene paste to accelerate industrial adoption

HydroGraph Clean Power (CSE:HG) announced the commercial launch of its Fractal Graphene Paste, a new high-concentration, pre-dispersed graphene product designed to simplify the integration of graphene into industrial formulations and help accelerate adoption across a range of markets.

The product represents a strategic step by the company to address one of the most persistent barriers to widespread graphene commercialization: dispersion. While graphene has long been recognized for its potential to enhance material properties—including strength, conductivity, and durability—its practical use has often been limited by the complexity of incorporating it into real-world systems.

Fractal Graphene Paste delivers HydroGraph’s high-purity Fractal Graphene in a stable, aqueous dispersion that is ready for immediate use. By eliminating the need for specialized processing steps, the company aims to make graphene more accessible to manufacturers that may not have the technical resources or equipment typically required to work with graphene powders.

Addressing a key industry challenge

Graphene powders are naturally hydrophobic and prone to agglomeration, presenting challenges when they are introduced into water-based systems. Overcoming these issues usually requires high-energy mixing processes, specialized dispersing agents, and extensive formulation development. Such requirements have historically slowed down the transition of graphene from research environments to commercial applications.

HydroGraph’s Fractal Graphene Paste is designed to bypass these hurdles. The paste is fully dispersed and stabilized, allowing customers to incorporate it into formulations using standard industrial mixing equipment. According to the company, this “off-the-shelf” usability can significantly reduce development timelines and lower technical barriers for adoption.

High concentration and stability

One of the distinguishing features of the product is its graphene concentration. The paste contains 20% graphene by weight, positioning it among the highest concentration commercially available dispersions. By comparison, most graphene dispersions currently on the market typically range between 1% and 5% concentration.

Despite its high loading, HydroGraph says the paste maintains long-term stability due to its proprietary stabilization technology and ultrafine graphene morphology. The material has a median particle size (D50) of approximately 35 nanometres, which helps prevent re-agglomeration during both storage and processing.

The company reports a shelf life of more than two years, with dispersion quality and particle size distribution validated using Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), a common analytical technique used in nanomaterials characterization.

Fractal Graphene Paste is derived from HydroGraph’s Fractal Graphene™, produced using its proprietary Hyperion Reactor technology. The company states that this process supports consistent batch-to-batch production and delivers carbon purity levels of 99.8%.

Targeting multiple high-growth markets

HydroGraph has positioned the new product for use in water-based systems across several industrial sectors where graphene’s properties could provide measurable performance benefits.

In the construction industry, graphene-enhanced concrete and cement formulations have shown potential to improve compressive strength and durability while enabling reductions in material usage, which can contribute to lower embodied carbon.

In coatings, graphene can improve barrier properties, enhancing protection against corrosion and environmental degradation. This can extend the service life of coatings used in infrastructure, transportation, and industrial equipment.

Thermal management is another key application area. Graphene’s high thermal conductivity makes it suitable for use in liquid cooling systems and thermal interface materials, particularly in data centers and high-performance computing environments associated with artificial intelligence infrastructure.

The elastomers and rubber sector is also a target market, where graphene additives can enhance tensile strength, wear resistance, and overall material longevity.

Early customer engagement and scaling plans

HydroGraph has already begun engaging with potential customers. The company reports that it has distributed samples of Fractal Graphene Paste to more than 30 organizations for evaluation across multiple application areas.

Current manufacturing capacity is sufficient to meet research, development, and early-stage commercial demand, according to the company. HydroGraph indicated that it plans to scale production in response to customer uptake as applications move from testing to commercialization.

“Dispersion is where many graphene projects succeed or fail,” HydroGraph’s top executive, Kjirstin Breure, said in a media release. “Fractal Graphene Paste allows customers to focus on product development and performance rather than overcoming processing challenges. By delivering a stable, high-concentration graphene dispersion that integrates directly into existing manufacturing processes, we are lowering barriers to adoption and accelerating commercialization opportunities across multiple industries.”

Broader industry context

The launch of Fractal Graphene Paste comes amid growing interest in advanced materials that can improve efficiency and sustainability across industries. Despite graphene’s well-documented potential, commercial adoption has been slower than initially anticipated, in large part due to challenges in processing and integration.

By focusing on ease of use and high-performance dispersion, HydroGraph aims to position its product as a practical solution that bridges the gap between laboratory innovation and industrial deployment.

While it remains to be seen how quickly customers will transition from evaluation to full-scale production, the company’s approach reflects a broader trend within the advanced materials sector: prioritizing manufacturability and user-friendly formats to unlock the commercial potential of next-generation materials.
