i-80 Gold Corp. (IAU) has discovered more high-grade gold at its Granite Creek Property in Nevada.

The first six holes drilled in this 2022 program were designed to test and expand the high-grade South Pacific Zone at the property. The zone was recently discovered by i-80 and shows prospective gold mineralization. It is located north of underground mine workings at Granite Creek.

According to the company, assay results from the first six holes demonstrate significant expansion potential. Hole iGS22-05 was the deepest hole drilled that intersected high-grade gold. Holes iGS22-02, -04, and -06 were reported to have yielded impressive gold findings.

Holes iGS22-01 and 03 showed “modest” results and were within what i-80 had expected based on historical drillings done on the area.

i-80 stated that it sees the South Pacific Zone as its priority target for the ongoing surface drill program at Granite Creek and will be included in a resource update. The company will continue to attempt an expansion of mineralization along strike and at depth in the zone.

“Broad intercepts at depth demonstrate the significant upside opportunity and drilling in 2022 will continue to step-out along strike to the north towards the property recently acquired from Nevada Gold Mines… We are also extending the decline in order to accelerate the development of underground workings towards the SPZ,” Tyler Hill, senior geologist of i-80, said.

i-80 Gold Corp. (IAU) is up 2.97 per cent and is trading at $3.47 per share as of 2:41 p.m. ET.
