Iconic Minerals (ICM) has completed its first drill hole of 2022 at the Bonnie Claire Lithium Project in Nevada.

The new drill hole, hole BC2201C, has a final depth of 2001 feet (610 meters). The company has set vibrating wire piezometers in the hole during abandonment to better understand the groundwater flow in the basin. The core rig is currently mobilizing to the next core hole location, which is about 0.5 miles from the site of BC2201C.

Richard Kern, CEO of Iconic Minerals, commented on the announcement.

“Completion of our first core hole is a major milestone in the quest to move Bonnie Claire forward to a feasibility study and beyond. Core allows us to determine detailed geology as well as gather the geo-technical parameters to help design borehole testing. I believe this program will further prove the enormous potential of the project.”

Barr Engineering Company completed its core sampling program at the BC2201C drill site and has begun an assessment of the material. Over 200 segments of the core will be analyzed to better understand the geotechnical characteristics of the resource at Bonnie Claire.

The results from this technical analysis will enhance Barr’s understanding of the geology. It will help optimize the design of future borehole mining tests at Bonnie Claire.

The company will also commence a mud/rotary hole, which will drill to a depth of 2000 feet and is located 20 feet from BC2201C. The hole will be geochem sampled and compared with assays from the nearby core hole. Based on previous drilling, the company anticipates the core lithium values to be 10-15 per cent higher than the mud/rotary hole.

Iconic is a mineral exploration company. It mainly focuses on acquiring and exploring gold and lithium properties in Nevada.

Iconic Minerals Ltd. (ICM) is down 4.17 per cent, trading at C$0.115 per share at 1:35 pm ET.
