Idaho Champion (ITKO) has begun a fall exploration program on its cobalt properties in Idaho, USA.

A technical team, now mobilized, will undertake comprehensive site reconnaissance, preliminary geologic mapping, and initial ridge and spur soil sampling at the Twin Peaks and Victory projects.

Twin Peaks comprises 2,761 hectares and is located 3 km from Electra Battery Metals’ advanced exploration-stage Iron Creek Project, which contains an indicated resource of 2.2 Mt grading 0.26 per cent cobalt and 0.65 per cent copper, and an inferred resource of 2.7 Mt grading 0.22 per cent cobalt and 0.68 per cent copper.

Victory comprises 1,627.5 hectares and is 6 km south of the Blackbird Mine and Jervois Mining’s Idaho Cobalt Operations, commissioned on October 7, 2022, as North America’s only primary cobalt mine.

The company intends to move its projects forward as quickly as possible, given advancements from players in the area and the U.S. Government’s stated need for a domestic supply of critical metals.

“We are pleased to be boots-on-the-ground in Idaho to advance our cobalt properties, where our team has already completed a comprehensive desktop evaluation,” stated Jonathan Buick, Idaho Champion’s CEO. “We see a real opportunity to make an impact by joining our peers in the Idaho Cobalt Belt.”

Idaho Champion is a discovery-focused exploration company advancing mineral properties in Idaho, USA and, shortly, Quebec, Canada.

Idaho Champion Gold Mines (ITKO) is unchanged, trading at $0.05 per share as of 10:37 am EST.
