K9 Gold (KNC) has reported recent trenching results from the Moonlight Prospect at the Stony Lake project.

At Stony Lake, ground prospecting and sampling has led to the identification of seven broad areas of highly anomalous low grade to high grade gold mineralization.

The 2021 drill program has now been completed, with a total of 6865 metres of diamond drilling in 24 drill holes at the property in the Exploits Subzone Gold Belt of central Newfoundland.

Of those 24 holes, 18 were drilled in the Jumper’s Pond area, three at the Deliverance Prospect, and three in the Moonlight area.

Phase 1 tested potential mineralized targets in the volcanic rock below the Botwood sediments. There, drilling intersected multiple wide zones of shearing and brecciation with quartz veining associated with pyrite mineralization.

Channel sampling of B horizon soil material at Moonlight returned an average of 0.81 g/t gold over a width of 15.0 meters.

Jeff Poloni, CEO of K9 Gold, commented on the results.

“Our exploration efforts have located the correct structural host exhibiting several factors that suggest potential for higher grade zones of gold mineralization along the shear zone,” he said, adding, “The recent discovery of a new zone of consistent highly anomalous gold concentration in soils at Moonlight highlights the potential of the project to host additional zones of gold mineralization and a priority drill target in this portion of the property.”

The company anticipates that drilling will resume after the holidays.

K9 Gold is a mineral exploration and development company engaged in the identification, acquisition, and exploration of mineral interests.

Shares in K9 Gold Corp. (KNC) are steady, trading at $0.18 per share as of 9:30 am EST.
