K9 Gold (KNC) has commenced its 2022 drill program and updated its 2021 assays.

A minimum 4,000 m of diamond drilling is underway at the Jumper’s Pond Zone on the Stony Lake Project in Newfoundland.

The project covers 13,625 ha and 27 km of favorable trend, including seven broad areas of highly anomalous, low grade (up to 4 g/t gold) and high grade (>4 g/t gold) gold mineralization.

K9 has since received a permit for 30 additional drill holes (10,000 m) at Jumper’s Pond to follow up on extensive mineralized zones.

The company has also received results from additional drill core sampling from its 2021 drilling program at Stony Lake. Infill sampling has connected the wide zones of significant gold mineralization intersected by hole JP21-022, resulting in an average of 0.61 g/t over 127.4 m. Sampling in JP21-023 and 024 also added significant widths to their respective mineralized zones.

It is planning ground follow-up to further investigate numerous highly anomalous soil samples from summer 2021.

Director and Chief Geologist Chris Healey spoke with Daniella Atkinson about the updates and the return to the field.
