Mining company Kuya Silver (KUYA) has begun trading its common shares on the Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE) today.

The company is based in Canada, and is predominantly focused on silver mining operations.

Currently, Kuya is working to close the acquisition of 80 per cent interest in the Bethania silver mining project. Located in Central Peru, the project’s mine was previously in production until 2016.

Kuya Silver now has the funding to close the acquisition of interest in the mine. Once completed, the company plans to ramp up field activities at the project, in preparation for a drilling program.

This ramp-up will include restarting production at the Bethania mine, and the construction of a new flotation plant onsite. The company’s exploration activities should commence over the next few weeks.

Kuya Silver’s President and CEO, David Stein, commented on the company’s acquisition of interest in the Bethania Project.

“We are very excited to close the acquisition and be able to launch the first-ever drill program at the Bethania Project.

“Even though we have a lot of relatively recent assay and production data from the mine, which suspended production in 2016, we believe the previous mining was just scratching the surface in terms of the potential of the mine, and this upcoming drill program is the first step in realising the Bethania Project’s true potential,” he said.

In other news, the newly listed company’s Board of Directors has nominated Dr Quinton Hennigh as Chairman. Dr Hennigh is an economic geologist, as well as the founder, President, and Chairman of TSXV-listed Novo Resources (NVO).

Kuya Silver (KUYA) is currently trading at C$1.40 per share at 11:13am EDT.
