HPQ Silicon Resources (HPQ) has shipped the last component of its GEN3 Quartz Reduction Reactor on track for Q4 commissioning.

HPQ’s Quartz Reduction Reactors allow for the one-step transformation of quartz into high-purity silicon at a reduced cost, energy input and carbon footprint.

The company’s technology provider, PyroGenesis Canada (PYR), has confirmed that, after COVID-related delays, the reactor’s power supply is on route to its Montreal production facility.

Bernard Tourillon, President and CEO of HPQ Silicon, commented,

“Knowing that the power supply is finally on its way confirms that we are getting closer to the start of the GEN3 PUREVAP QRR, closer to making battery-grade silicon and closer to validating the commercial potential of the PUREVAP QRR process.

In addition to its traditional applications, silicon is just beginning its path to battery utilization. The addressable markets for our silicon products are massive, diverse and with our pilot plant operational, we will be well-positioned to start looking for additional downstream applications where our product can be of value.”

PyroGenesis Canada designs, develops, manufactures and commercializes advanced plasma processes with a sustainable focus.

HPQ Silicon Resources is a Quebec-based silicon solutions company catering to battery and electric vehicle manufacturers.

HPQ Silicon Resources (HPQ) is unchanged trading at $0.65 per share as of 2:53 pm ET.
