- Cannabis company, Maple Leaf Green World (MGW) has reported pleasing initial results from its California CBG Hemp Project
- Under analysis, a La Crème batch sample indicated an impressive 13.9 per cent CBG and 0.07 per cent THC content
- The analysis also detected no other cannabinoids, which indicates a potentially pure CBG flower
- The company’s plants are two to four weeks away from full maturity, at which point they will be harvested
- Maple Leaf Green World (MGW) is down 6.67 per cent and is currently trading at C$0.07 per share
Cannabis company, Maple Leaf Green World (MGW) has reported pleasing initial results from its California CBG Hemp Project.
The company has taken a sample of its La Crème hemp batch, and submitted it for lab analysis. Under analysis, the sample indicated an impressive 13.9 per cent CBG, and 0.07 per cent THC content.
No other cannabinoids were detected in the sample. Since most samples typically present traces of other cannabinoids, this noteworthy absence indicates a potentially pure CBG flower.
This is possibly the result of Maple Leaf’s deliberate decision to keep the plants in the vegetative state for longer. This allowed the plants to develop larger buds and higher poundage, maximising both CBG concentration and harvest yield.
Maple Leaf’s outdoor crop is displaying numerous large buds, and should produce two to three pounds of flower per plant. The company’s cultivation team is confident that the flowers, when fully mature, will achieve at least 18 per cent CBG content.
The plants from the two greenhouses where the analysis sample came from are two to four weeks away from full maturity. They will be harvested at that point in time.
In the midst of preparing for its first harvest, the company has also cut and set up clones for the second one.
Maple Leaf Green World’s Chairman, President, and CEO, Raymond Lai, was impressed with the purity of the company’s first harvest.
“The low THC nature of this strain gave us the flexibility to extend the length of our vegetating stage to obtain higher CBG content and larger buds without the risk of our harvest going hot.
“This will be resulted in approximately 30-40 per cent increase in yield. We are excited to see the final results from a fully mature flower,” he said.
