TSX futures continued to drift lower before Wednesday’s market open, dragged down by deteriorating negotiations between the US and Iran, with US President Trump claiming on Tuesday that Iran had agreed to nuclear inspections, and Tehran swiftly rejecting that it has made any such concession. Peace talks are expected to resume in Pakistan early next week.

S&P 500 and Nasdaq futures, however, made their way into the black, with investors buying the dip on technology stocks following two straight days of losses for the indices fueled by concerns about AI spending and souring prospects for interest rate cuts.

MDA Space (TSX/NYSE:MDA), the robotics and satellite specialist behind the Canadarm, has won a C$688 million contract with the Canadian Space Agency to provide a synthetic aperture radar satellite for the RADARSAT Constellation, which was founded in 2023 to reinforce domestic Earth observation capabilities.

Shifting from outer space to underground, BC gold and copper explorer NovaRed Mining (CSE:NRED) appointed Katie Zacharia, a Trump allied lawyer, political strategist and conservative commentator, to its advisory board, tasking her with guiding the company in the areas of public affairs, government relations, communications and capital markets visibility. Zacharia is currently Senior Communication Advisor for Truth Social, a social media network controlled by Trump Media & Technology Group. The news follows NovaRed’s hiring of former US Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi L. Noem earlier this month.
