At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Micron Technology (NASDAQ:MU) unveiled significant expansions across its Crucial consumer memory and storage portfolio.

The company unveiled the high-speed Crucial P510 SSD and introduced new density and form factor options for its existing dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) portfolio, aiming to provide consumers with greater choice and flexibility.

The Crucial P510 SSD, featuring read and write speeds of up to 11,000/9,550 megabytes per second (MB/s), brings fast Gen5 performance to a wider audience. The P510, showcased alongside a robust set of demos at CES, highlights builds for various price points and computing use cases, from high-end performance gaming to professional photography and mainstream home, office, and student use. These demos feature state-of-the-art devices integrating Crucial solutions, including gaming PCs, motherboards, CPUs, and consoles from partners such as ASRock, Beelink, be quiet!, Falcon Northwest, Gigabyte, PlayStation, MECHREVO, ThundeRobot, and TRYX.

“With the exciting memory and storage offerings we’re debuting today, Crucial’s portfolio is now broader and stronger than ever before,” Dinesh Bahal, corporate vice president and general manager of Micron’s commercial products group said in a media statement. “These updates — from making fast Gen5 SSDs available to the mainstream to launching high-density memory options — illustrate our commitment to driving innovation, performance and value for every consumer from casual gamers to creatives and students to hardcore enthusiasts.”

The new SSD offerings provide fast, power-efficient storage for consumers. Built for both laptops and desktops, the P510 consumes 25 per cent less power than previous Crucial Gen5 SSDs, supporting longer battery life. Available in 1 terabyte (TB) and 2TB capacity options with an integrated heatsink, the P510 also offers a single-sided design for easy installation in newer Gen5-enabled laptops. Additionally, Crucial is expanding its SSD offerings with a heatsink version of the Crucial P310 2280 SSD, designed to fit into and work with PlayStation 5 and desktops, providing unthrottled performance with read speeds of 7,100 MB/s.
