Midland Exploration (MD) has outlined its summer exploration work at the Mytrhil and Mythril regional projects in James Bay, Quebec.

The summer exploration program involves a lake sediment survey, alongside some regional prospecting work and a reconnaissance campaign.

The lake soil sediment survey was completed in June this year and was the first of the summer work to be completed.

lake sampling last year identified standout results, showing five samples at 65 per cent molybdenum, 0.1 per cent copper, 0.09 grams per tonne gold and six grams per tonne silver.

The source of these anomalies is as yet unknown and is the focus of this year’s reconnaissance program.

The prospecting campaign will run through August for a period of three weeks, seeking to identify the sources of the newly identified lake sediment anomalies.

Previous exploration outlined copper-gold-molybdenum and gold occurrences across the two prospects, boding well for a gold source somewhere on the property.

Follow up prospecting will be conducted on the Tilly South claim block of the Mythril Regional project.

Previous work on Tilly South showed two separate mineralized systems, named the Tornado showing and the Faramir showing.

The company also located a gold-bearing boulder in a field in the northeast portion of the Mythril project. In the 2019 program, the company tested three boulders in the area, which graded at 2.84 grams per tonne gold, 2.83 grams per tonne gold and 0.59 grams per tonne gold.

Follow up work has yet to be conducted on these boulders, but the company did conduct some induced polarisation surveys near the boulders in the winter of this year.

The survey returned weak to moderate anomalies surrounding the gold-bearing boulders, which will be followed up during the prospecting campaign.

Midland Exploraiton (MD) is up seven per cent and is trading at C$1.07 per share at 12:00 PM EDT.
