Nabati Foods (MEAL) has expanded its international distribution through a partnership with IMCD Japan.

IMCD Japan is a leading specialty chemicals and food ingredients distributor.

The partnership will focus on distribution via food service, industrial and grocery channels. The deal includes distribution of:

Nabati Foods is sold under the brand name ITABAN in Japan.

A Vegconomist report (August 2020) estimated Japan’s vegetarian and flexitarian population to be 27 million, which is more than 22 per cent of the entire country.

Ahmad Yehya, CEO of Nabati Foods, stated,

“Expanding our reach in Japan is a very exciting milestone for Nabati Foods. Japan is a very advanced and health-conscious country, and the demand for plant-based products is strong. Foodservice is a particularly exciting channel in Japan because there are so many restaurants and so many wonderful and unique recipes that our products can be integrated into as ingredients.”
