Carangas mining contracts and updated economic study

New Pacific said that on August 21, 2026, it signed Administrative Mining Contracts (AMCs) for the Carangas project through its Bolivian partner with the Autoridad Jurisdiccional Administrativa Minera (Administrative Mining Jurisdictional Authority, or AJAM). The AMCs cover about 39 km² and have a 30-year fixed term. The signed contracts are to be submitted to the Plurinational Legislative Assembly of Bolivia for ratification and approval.

Based on its existing agreement with its Bolivian partner, New Pacific said it owns a 98% economic interest in the Carangas project.

On August 14, 2026, the company filed an updated independent preliminary economic assessment technical report for Carangas titled “Carangas Project NI 43-101 Technical Report and Preliminary Economic Assessment.” The report is effective July 16, 2026 and was prepared by Ausenco Engineering Canada ULC in accordance with National Instrument 43-101 standards.

According to the company, the updated assessment reflects an increased throughput rate and the inclusion of the gold zone compared with its previous preliminary economic assessment technical report dated September 5, 2024. The company highlighted a post-tax net present value (NPV) at a 5% discount rate of US$2.65 billion and an internal rate of return (IRR) of 35.9% at base-case metal prices, along with initial capital costs of US$644.5 million and a post-tax payback period of 2.4 years. It also described a 19-year life of mine (excluding two years of pre-production) and payable production estimates including 195 million ounces of silver and 1.1 million ounces of gold.

The company cautioned that the preliminary economic assessment results are preliminary, include assumptions, and are based on both indicated and inferred mineral resources, with no certainty the results will be achieved or realized.

Quarterly financial and project spending details

New Pacific reported operating expenses of US$1.44 million for the quarter, compared with US$1.32 million a year earlier. Income from investments was US$0.32 million versus US$0.11 million, and the company recorded a foreign exchange loss of US$0.29 million compared with a foreign exchange gain of US$0.46 million in the prior-year quarter.
