Augmented reality company NexTech AR Solutions (CSE:NTAR) has expanded its InfernoAR platform by integrating Microsoft Teams and Skype.

This addition comes three weeks after the company also integrated the video conferencing platform Zoom into InfernoAR.

Users can now use the InfernoAR platform to launch a Zoom, Teams or Skype meeting. They can also upload a recorded meeting and make it keyword searchable, with closed captioning available in 64 languages.

The platform includes additional features like live moderated questions and simple registration. It can be applied to corporate meetings, school classes and lectures, product demonstrations, and trade show presentations.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, social distancing and self-isolation measures have kept people inside their homes. As a result, the use of online video conferencing platforms like Zoom and Skype have experienced significant growth.

According to Business Insider, Zoom has 300 million daily participants. Microsoft Teams and Skype fall far behind, but can still claim 44 million and 40 million daily active users, respectively.

NexTech’s CEO, Evan Gappelberg, commented on the ongoing expansion of the company’s platform.

“We are continuing to move very fast with video conferencing technology integrations into our InfernoAR platform, and expect to have even more exciting integrations completed in short order. With Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Skype, we have extended the appeal of the InfernoAR platform.

“As everyone has a different preference or existing account for video conferencing, this new integration allows users to pick which platform they want to use, which further strengthens our market position,” he said.

NexTech is up 19.55 per cent, and is trading for C$2.63 per share as of 2:45pm EDT.
