NorthWest Copper (NWST) announced that drilling has started at its 100 per cent-owned East Niv project in north-central British Columbia.

The East Niv program is set for 3,400 metres of drilling and six drill holes in the first phase for 2022.

East Niv is the company’s third drill project to be activated in 2022, with drilling already in progress at Kwanika and Stardust where 26 holes have been completed this year.

The current drill program is designed to expand the known high-grade zone and test for additional copper-gold zones.

NorthWest plans for a total of more than 30,000 metres over its portfolio.

Drilling at Kwanika Project started in March and at the adjacent Stardust project shortly after, while drilling at Lorraine is expected to commence in August 2022.

There are currently three drill rigs at Kwanika and Stardust, and approximately 10,000 metres of drilling have been completed at the two projects so far this year. Three holes have been completed at Stardust, and 23 holes have been completed at Kwanika.

NorthWest is a copper-gold explorer and developer with several projects in British Columbia.

Shares of NorthWest Copper (NWST) are down 10.94 per cent, trading at $0.285 at 4:55 p.m. ET.
