Oculus VisionTech welcomes one director, farewells another

Cybersecurity company, Oculus VisionTech (TSXV:OVT) has appointed Fabrice Helliker as a Director of the company.

Fabrice came to the company through OCL Technologies, a data privacy start-up which Oculus recently acquired. He is currently an advisor at OCL, and a long-time executive in the data protection and compliance market.

Since acquiring OCL, Oculus has begun its expansion into data privacy compliance, making Fabrice a timely asset to the company.

Fabrice is currently the head of a software engineering division at Hitachi Vantara. The division he leads is responsible for data protection automation and orchestration solutions.

He joined the company in 2012 when Hitachi Vantara acquired Cofio Software, a company he co-founded. Fabrice also co-founded BakBone Software, which traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange before being acquired by Quest Software.

New Director, Fabrice Helliker, explained his vision for the company, moving into the future.

“I am excited for this opportunity to come aboard and help direct Oculus VisionTech.

“I believe that the acquisition of OCL Technologies, together with existing technology built by Oculus, will enable us to move into the data compliance market with unique solutions that offer tremendous value to customers worldwide,” he said.

Just as it welcomes one new director, the company has also farewelled another director.

Oculus VisionTech’s CEO, Rowland Perkins, commented on circumstances surrounding the appointment and resignation.

“Mr Helliker joins as current Director of the Company, Mr Shawn Nichols, has recently resigned to pursue other projects.

“The board of directors wishes to thank Mr Nichols for his invaluable contributions to the company, and wish him well in all his future endeavours,” he said.

Oculus VisionTech (OVT) is down 1.69 per cent and trading at C$0.58 per share at 1:40pm EDT.
