Orford Mining (ORM) has provided updates on exploration activities in northern Quebec.

The Orford Board of Directors has approved a $3.5 million exploration program with up to 3,000 metres of diamond drilling in 2022.

Orford Mining partner Wyloo Metals Pty Ltd has approved a $4.9 million exploration program as part of Wyloo’s earn-in to Orford’s high-grade Nickel-Copper-Platinum Group Metal West Raglan Property.

David Christie, President and CEO of Orford sat down with Shoran Devi to discuss the news.

“The Summer 2021 exploration program at Qiqavik successfully extended the Annick high-grade gold boulder train to 3.7 kms and drilling data helped us understand the potential source of the multi-ounce gold mineralization seen in that trend. With our new understanding of the geological controls on mineralization resulting from the widely spaced 2021 drilling program, we are eager to commence the 2022 drill program targeting cross-structures associated with the IPLS. The Qiqavik property remains vastly under-explored and the gold endowment seen in the surface samples continues to help us focus on the most prospective targets.

The current very buoyant nickel, copper and palladium prices coupled with a $4.9 million commitment by Wyloo on Orford’s West Raglan project in 2022 should make for a very exciting summer. We are eager to drill the highest priority conductors on the West Raglan project as outlined by the 2021 geophysical program. The West Raglan project is one of the few underexplored high grade nickel sulphide projects in the world sitting next door to Glencore’s world-class Raglan mine.”

Orford Mining is a gold explorer focused on highly prospective and underexplored areas of northern Quebec. Orford’s principal assets are the Qiqavik and West Raglan projects comprising a land package totalling over 80,000 hectares in the Cape Smith Belt.

Orford Mining Corporation (ORM) opened trading at C$0.16 per share.
