Primo Nutraceuticals (CSE:PRMO) has received a site license from Health Canada, allowing the company to import hand sanitiser.

The license allows the holder to manufacture, package, label, and import antiseptic skin cleansers and hand sanitisers. Health Canada and its related branches have begun issuing such licenses as part of the COVID-19 emergency response.

This particular license came from the Natural and Non-prescription Health Products Directorate of Health Canada.

With the license in hand, Primo will import hand sanitiser from the United States into Canada.

In March, the company signed a production order with celebrity-driven brand, Beauty Kitchen. The order was for manufacturing 1,000 units of free non-hydroalcoholic hand sanitiser, which Beauty Kitchen will produce in Nevada.

Beauty Kitchen’s production facility in Boulder City currently has the capacity to produce approximately C$635,000 worth of product a month. Through this relationship, Primo has been able to produce hand sanitiser product without having to construct its own facility.

The initial run of 1,000 units was financed internally. However, future production will be financed through procurement orders from the health industry.

Primo will use the site license from Health Canada to import the hand sanitiser which Beauty Kitchen produced into Canada. The company plans to hand out the sample of 1,000 units to hospitals and healthcare professionals.

After the first 1,000 units go, Primo will make more hand sanitiser available for sale on the company’s online shop.

Primo’s President, Andy Jagpal, called the site license issue a win for the company.

“We have joined companies like Purell who have been permitted to provide these essential products to combat the spread of the Corona virus.

Our goal is to be able bid on procurement contracts from government hospitals and nursing home facilities as soon as our 1,000 sample hand sanitisers arrive,” he said.

Primo Nutraceuticals (PRMO) is up 33.33 per cent and is trading for 2 cents per share at 10:38am EDT.
