Regulus Resources (REG) has shared copper mineralization expansion results from drill hole AK-22-052 on the AntaKori Copper-gold Project in Peru.

The hole was designed to test the continuity of mineralization to the north and search for additional information on intercepts at depth in nearby holes.

Hole AK-22-052 was drilled to 1,385.80 metres before crossing the property boundary, and the hole was stopped shortly afterwards. The hole intersected mineralization that expanded the known footprint and intersected attractive mineralization in dykes at depth

John Black, CEO of Regulus, commented,

“Hole 52 intersected several intervals of skarn mineralization that continue to demonstrate the skarn system is open to the north. Like nearby holes, recently completed Hole 52 intersected strongly fractured, silicified, quartz-healed and brecciated quartzites at depth that are locally well mineralized, despite quartzites typically being poor host rocks for mineralization.”

The company stated the new results are indicative of a mineralizing source nearby but will require more drilling to outline the resource.

Dr. Kevin B. Heather, Chief Geological Officer of Regulus, added,

“Geologically speaking, Hole 52 is very complex and exhibits multiple, overprinting styles of mineralization, as is common in most large ore deposits.”

Additionally, Hole AK-22-053 has been completed at a depth of 727.40 metres, with assays pending. The goal of this hole was to cross the boundary necessary to trigger the company’s 70 per cent earn-in on Colquirrumi claims and test for the eastern extension of mineralization.

Regulus Resources Inc. (REG) is up 9.09 per cent, trading at $0.84 per share as of 1:03 p.m. ET.
