Reliq Health Technologies (RHT) has signed a contract with digiiMED, for the provision of its iUGO Care platform.

digiiMED, a Surgical Solutions Puerto Rico spin-off, provides digital health solutions to care providers in Puerto Rico and Latin America. Under the contract, Reliq will provide digiiMED’s patients in Puerto Rico with access to its iUGO Care platform.

The company’s platform has numerous capabilities which enable high-quality care for medical patients. These solutions include remote patient monitoring, chronic care management, behavioural health integration, and principal care management.

This contract specifically applies to digiiMED’s Medicare and private insurance patients in Puerto Rico.

Reliq Health Technologies’ CEO, Dr Lisa, Crossley, said that company is very excited to expand the business into Puerto Rico. She also mentioned the heightened need for digital health solutions in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Half of all adults in Puerto Rico have at least one chronic condition, over 42 per cent of the population have hypertension, and over 16 per cent suffer from diabetes.

“In the midst of a global pandemic that is overwhelming healthcare systems in states like Texas, Florida, and Georgia, it is vital that areas like Puerto Rico protect their high-risk chronic disease populations through virtual care programs.

“Keeping chronic disease patients healthy and at home reduces the risk of exposure to the virus for this vulnerable group, limiting the spread of the virus in the total population and helping to keep the healthcare system functioning for all of the citizens of Puerto Rico.

“We look forward to working with the digiiMED team to improve access to care and health outcomes for their clients’ chronic disease patients,” she said.

Reliq Health Technologies (RHT) is up 11.54 per cent and is trading at C$0.29 per share at 2:46pm EDT.
