Rogers Communications (RCI.A) has been ranked Alberta’s best wireless network by umlaut, a global leader in mobile network testing and benchmarking.

umlaut, which tests mobile networks in more than 120 countries around the world, measured the performance of voice and data services on smartphones based on extensive tests throughout Canada.

The testing included network reliability, responsiveness, download/upload speed, voice quality, call setup time, and video streaming stability and quality.

Larry Goerzen, President of the Alberta and Prairies Region at Rogers, commented on the recognition.

“From our cities to our rural areas,” he said, “we continue to invest in our wireless networks for customers across Alberta and this recognition from umlaut [. . .] speaks volumes to the commitments we’ve made to support consumers and businesses across the province.”

Rogers was ranked Best in Test and most reliable network overall for the entire province. The study also ranked Rogers as the best and most reliable wireless network in all of Canada, and among the top wireless carriers worldwide according to umlaut’s benchmarks.

“At a time when connectivity has been absolutely critical to Albertans, we are proud to provide the best and most reliable wireless network in the province to ensure our customers stay connected,” said Mr. Goerzen.

Since January 2020, the company has invested in LTE and 5G infrastructure across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, part of its plan to invest $6.5 billion to deliver 5G across Western Canada.

Rogers is the largest wireless service provider in Canada, with more than 10 million subscribers making up one third of the Canadian telecommunications market.

Rogers Communications Inc. (RCI.A) is currently trading at $67.28 per share.
