Rogers (RCI.B) has been ranked Canada’s most consistent national wireless network and broadband provider by Ookla.

During the era of COVID, Rogers wants the Canadian masses to know it’s mobile and fixed broadband networks deliver consistent speeds of any national wireless network or top internet provider.

This information came from Ookla, a global leader in internet testing, data and analysis.

Ookla operates through Speedtest, the company’s flagship product, which is an accurate way to measure internet performance and network diagnostics.

In Q3 of 2020, Rogers internet was ranked fastest in its cable footprint and most consistent national wireless network and internet provider in Canada by Ookla.

Fast forward to the Q4 results; Rogers internet shows to be the fastest fixed broadband service in Ontario and New Brunswick, according to Ookla.

Jorge Fernandes, the Chief Technology Officer at Rogers Communications, is happy with the news from Ookla amid the current pandemic.

“We are proud that the strength and reliability of our award-winning networks continue to provide Canadians with a lifeline at a time when they need it most,” he said.

Jorge added, “Today’s Speedtest Intelligence results reaffirmed that Rogers is making the right network investments to keep Canadians connected today and in the future.”

Ookla provides broadband and mobile network testing applications through its app and website.

It tests the average downloads and uploads to rank the network’s speed performance and uses its consistency score to measure what percentage of a provider’s samples equals or exceeds download and upload thresholds that best support what consumers use the most.

Rogers Communications is down 0.36 per cent and is going for C$60.37 per share at 2:54 PM EST.
