Shoal Point Energy (SHP) drilling has started on the company’s sixth well in Pratt County, Kansas.

In September, the company partners agreed to plug and abandon the Wells Trust number 1 – 1 at the Mount Evans project in Kansas at a total depth of 4,415 feet.

Shoal Point has a 65 per cent working interest in the project.

The Mount Evans project is also privately held by Shelby Resources and has a 35 per cent working interest.

“The Mount Evans project has proved to be a real disappointment,” said Mark Jarvis, Chief Executive Officer.

“However, we think Kansas is a great jurisdiction and intend to pursue other opportunities in the state. We will keep shareholders informed about further developments,” concluded Jarvis.

Shoal Point Energy is a public company listed on the CSE.

The company is focused on its Pratt County project in Kansas and retains its oil and gas interests in the Humber Arm Allochthon play in western Newfoundland.

Shoal Point Energy (SHP) is trading at C$0.04 at 3:29 pm EST on November 18th.
