Solar Alliance (SOLR) has completed a 500 kW solar project in Kentucky for LG&E and KU.

The project, the fifth section of LG&E and KU’s Solar Share facility, is now operational. Share Solar is a solar energy subscription program where residential, business and industrial customers can earn credits to offset monthly utility bills for as little as US$0.20 per day.

The contract includes an option for an additional 500 kW system at the same location.

Kentucky remains a geographic focus for Solar Alliance with a growing portfolio of projects supported by its partnership with Boyd CAT, an authorized dealer of Cat solar equipment.

“Solar Alliance is proud to be part of the accelerating decarbonization of the power grid throughout the southeast and beyond, and we’ll continue to do our part to support clean energy economic development in communities,” said Myke Clark, Solar Alliance’s CEO. “Our contracted pipeline of large solar projects continues to grow, and this is the latest example of the type of project we are consistently delivering for our customers.”

Solar Alliance is an energy solutions provider focused on residential, commercial and industrial solar installations. Since its founding in 2003, it has developed $1 billion worth of renewable energy projects.

Solar Alliance Energy (SOLR) is up by 16.67 per cent trading at $0.07 per share as of 9:30 am EST.
